Large-scale Moscow's Attacks Cut Power Throughout Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
The country's power facilities have faced escalating attacks in the past few days

Overnight, Russian aerial assaults have resulted in blackouts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were injured while inhabitants in the city's east were left without electricity and dealt with disruption to water systems, according to municipal leaders.

At the same time, a minor was killed in a different aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, based on information from local officials.

Russian forces has escalated attacks on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while the country's government has requested "real steps" from international partners to exert influence on Russia.

"What's needed is not window dressing but strong steps - from the America, European nations and the Group of Seven - in providing air defence systems and applying sanctions," mentioned in a online statement.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 missiles targeted the country's power systems, labeling such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Russia was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were working to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes damaged electrical systems and civilian homes in the capital.

Multiple people wounded in the strikes on the capital have been transported for medical care, per statements from city authorities.

Local officials said the city came under intense attacks overnight. A seven-year-old child was killed and several individuals were hurt.

The assaults follow nights of aerial attacks in the region, parts of which remain under the control of Russian forces.

The whole nation is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to detect.

National leaders told journalists that Russia was purposely seeking to destroy the national power system, with attacks already affecting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed energy workers and authorities were bracing for more assaults.
